Revit has published a great variety of windows for your private use. You can check out our window families in different sizes, shapes and colours. The most amazing advantage of Revit is that you can avoid monotonous work while creating objects from scratch. Revit got you covered in every aspect of your project development.

I work on two monitors with revit main screen on one and the project browser and properties palletes on the other arranged at the edge of the second monitor to leave space to view other documents. Today, neither pallete display. I assumed someone had closed them, and so looked at View tab Windows/User Interface, but both are ticked on.

Click View tab Windows panel User Interface drop-down Properties. Right-click in the drawing area, and click Properties. You can dock the palette to either side of the Revit window and resize it horizontally. Note: Changing a window type property will affect all windows of that type in the project. Note also that the type name does not update when you change type parameter values.

To change type properties, select an element and click Modify tab Properties panel (Type Properties). Changes to type properties apply to all instances in the project. This parameter sets the layer wrapping around the window. 1) Close all programs and reset your Windows Display settings to a single monitor. 2) Once back to single-screen setup, re-open Revit and your missing panes should be there. 3) Then, WHILE Revit is open on your one screen and displaying all panes, go back to your Windows Display settings an re-enable your dual-screen setup. 4) Presto!

Uncheck Coarse and Medium and click OK. Now the Family will only show the detailed model when the Revit View is set to Fine Detail.
